Amid the political drama unfolding in Bihar, Lok Janshankti (LJP) party leader Chirag Paswan met Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national secretary general Shyam Rajak this weekend.
The meeting comes amid the bitter standoff between Chirag Paswan and his uncle, Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, over Ram Vilas Paswan’s political legacy claim.
In a conversation with ANI, Rajak said: “Anyone who wants to advance the ideology of Lohia and Ambedkar is welcome, whether it is Chirag Paswan or anyone else.”
Another prominent RJD source told ANI that Paswan spoke on the phone with Lalu Prasad Yadav for more than 15 minutes on Saturday evening. After talking to Lalu Yadav, Chirag Paswan also spoke to Tejashwi Yadav. Their conversation focused on possible future political alliances in Bihar.
Last month, Tejashwi Yadav called Chirag for joining the opposition.
Chirag paid his estranged uncle a backward compliment on Saturday, congratulating him on joining the union cabinet, which he said was a goal he achieved by breaking up his own family. The besieged LJP leader, who suffered a setback with Delhi’s High Court dismissing his petition challenging Paras’ election to lead the Lok Sabha party, has made it clear that I will not give up my fight to get the party back fed by my late father Ram Vilas Paswans has blood and sweat.
In an indirect reference to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, whom he suspects of having organized the coup in the LJP, Chirag said: “I cannot allow the party to be supported by those who, in because of personal ambitions, sit on people’s knees. who did not deign to post even a tweet about my father’s birthday recently. “The MP from Jamui also alluded to his disillusionment with the BJP which has remained silent on the crisis in his party despite its unreserved adulation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
When asked by reporters if he still sees himself as a Hanuman for Modi, similar to the relationship between the ape god and Lord Ram, Paswan cryptically replied “this is a question you have to ask when the elections are approaching. The 38-year-old, who has reached out to her late father’s family since the first marriage, also said: “I feel overwhelmed with emotions. After my father’s death and my family members betrayed, many other relatives have shown their support. “
In the state since Monday as part of his ashirwad yatra, Chirag has visited his sisters-in-law here alongside his mother-in-law in his hometown of Khagaria, in a charm offensive to woo those close to him. The former Bollywood actor has in the past been accused of condescending towards them. “I am not a lawyer. So I will not comment much on the Delhi High Court order until a meeting with my legal team in the nation’s capital. But I’m not going to give up, “he said.
