Agriculture Fairness Alliance Announces Award to Benefit UW-Madison Fruit and Nut Compass

United States, Dec. 16, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – The Agriculture Fairness Alliance (AFA), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting farmers diversifying into high-fiber food crops, is pleased to announce the Funding a grant for the Center for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Compass Program for Integrated Agriculture Systems for Fruits and Nuts.

Under the leadership of John Hendrickson, this grant will help fund the development of the Fruit and Nut Compass tool. The Fruit and Nut Compass puts strong decision-making capacity at the fingertips of farmers so that they can assess the suitability, economy and profitability of fruit and nut production for their farming business. It builds on the success of the Centre’s Veggie Compass, as well as other decision support tools for other types of producers, including Livestock Compass and OGRAIN Compass.
