Alliance of churches adopts schools

The Pine Bluff Faith Community Coalition Ministerial Alliance announced that it has adopted many schools in the area to improve conditions on campus.

Throughout the year, the coalition will ensure a presence on campus, such as patrolling the halls, lunch and bus stops and periodically providing snacks to teachers, among others.

“We continue to reach out to other members of the clergy to strengthen and establish a campus presence,” the statement said.

The group calls the FAITH effort or “Facilitating Transformation and Healing Assistance.”

The coalition is working with Pine Bluff Interested Citizens for Voter Registration, Pen or Pencil, for mentoring activities aimed at reducing violence, encouraging positive behavior and emphasizing education, according to one. Coalition Chair Reverend Jesse Turner press release.
