BKU (Ekta Ugrahan) is one of the largest agricultural organizations in Punjab and its activists had camped at the Tikri border when farmers against the central agricultural laws were unfolding.

Meanwhile, the model code of conduct has entered into force, Covid vaccination certificates issued in the five states affected by the poll will not have the photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Union Health Ministry applied the necessary filters on the Co-WIN platform to exclude Modi’s photo from the vaccine certificate, a source told PTI. The filters were applied on Saturday evening shortly after the election schedule was announced. India’s Election Commission has also banned all political rallies, nukkad meetings and roadshows until January 15 in election-related states. Congress has once again postponed its rally which was to be addressed by AICC leader Rahul Gandhi on January 15 in Moga.
