How it works: Airtel’s network will be powered by a set of Intel technologies: the latest Xeon Scalable processors, FPGAs and eASICs, the Ethernet 800 series and the FlexRAN reference architecture. Transforming its network to meet the growing needs of its more than 345 million subscribers with a flexible and software-defined infrastructure will allow Airtel to respond quickly to diverse customer demands for bandwidth and latency. By laying the foundation for large-scale enhanced mobile broadband, mobile edge computing and network slicing, Airtel can deliver new services to consumers while programming its network to generate long-term cost optimizations.
