New Delhi, August 27: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said on Saturday that his party, the National People’s Party (NPP), would not form any pre-election alliance with any party, including the BJP, for the upcoming parliamentary elections in the country. State.
“It’s not just the BJP, we are not entering the coalition with any political party,” Sangma said.

Once the election is over and if the situation arises to form the coalition government, we will decide as in the past whenever the situation will arise, we have supported the NDA and worked with the alliance,” he said.
The Meghalaya Chief Minister also added that the two political parties, BJP and NPP, are not ideologically on the same page on many issues. He was addressing a press conference after the national executive meeting here on Saturday.
The National Chairman of the NPP said: “In less than six years since its establishment, the NPP has achieved national party status, where many other political parties are still struggling. Sangma also announced that his party will contest the upcoming Assembly polls in Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
The Meghalaya chief minister went on to add that the NPP would not remain confined to the northeastern boundaries, adding that the party was also planning to challenge the assembly polls in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
However, he also maintained that the NPP would remain focused on state elections in Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.
