Wellsville bowlers improve to 11-2 | News, Sports, Jobs


WELLSVILLE — The Wellsville bowling team beat the Academy of Urban Scholars 1,794-1,022 Tuesday at Walnut Lanes.

Wellsville is 11-2, 9-0 in Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana Valley Bowling Conference.

Maddox Bosco had a game-high 170 and a streak of 325 for the winners. Kaylee Crow added a 176 game and a 289 streak. Wellsville hosts Maplewood today.

Three matches postponed to today

Three women’s basketball games scheduled for Thursday have been moved to today due to the impending winter storm. Steubenville at Beaver Local, Garfield at Crestview and Sebring at Lowellville will be played today.

Mount Union matches start earlier

ALLIANCE – The start time for Mount Union men’s and women’s basketball games has been moved to 5 p.m. today, due to the impending winter storm.

The Mount Union women (6-10, 3-7 OAC) will host Baldwin Wallace (13-3, 10-1 OAC), while the Mount Union men, 11th (16-2, 9-2 OAC) will travel at Baldwin Wallace (11-6, 6-4 OAC) this afternoon.

There will be no public sales for the men’s game at Baldwin Wallace as COVID restrictions only allow 50 fans for the visiting team on the bye roster.
