UMC will host a Bible study

LEWISTOWN — First Bakers United Methodist Church will hold a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. They will also host a youth group for those under 18 on the first Thursday of every month except July.

Launch of Divorce Support and Divorce Support for Children (DC4K)

BELLEVILLE – Divorce Care for Adults and DC4K (Divorce Care for Kids) is currently underway at New Life Church, 101 N. Beech Street, Burnham, PA and Locust Grove Church at 3358 W. Main Street, Bellevile, PA.

The Divorce Care program operates in conjunction with Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K). In Burnham, parents attending Divorce Care at New Life Church are encouraged to enroll their children there at Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K) while families attending the Belleville Group will enroll their children at Locust Grove. Registration can be done in advance by calling the telephone numbers below. DC4K is a student support group for children ages 5-12 whose families are going through separation/divorce.

At DC4K, kids indulge in crafts, games, activities, DVD dramas, and music. The program is scheduled to run until December 12, 2022 and will feature small groups. DC (Divorce Care) for Adults is a divorce support group that meets weekly for 13 weeks to help adults recover from the pain of separation and divorce. Participants experience a warm and caring environment led by caring people who are eager to help participants find healing and wholeness in the midst of their situation. A DC participant said, “My life was pretty much a mess when I started DivorceCare.

Outdoor concert at Beavertown United Methodist Church

Autumn festival in Troxelville

McIntosh will speak at

Pasquerilla Spiritual Life Center

STATE COLLEGE – Professor Andy McIntosh, Emeritus Professor of Thermodynamics at the University of Leeds in England, will be the guest speaker at a one-day conference on October 4 at State College. At noon he will speak on the subject, “Has science killed God? at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Life Center Memorial Lounge on the Penn State campus. A free pizza will be offered during this lunch event. At 7 p.m., Dr. McIntosh will speak on the topic, “The Wonder of the Human Voice” at State College Assembly of God at 2201 University Dr. at State College. The public is invited to attend presentations sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Creation Fellowship. The scholarship features speakers who are credentialed scientists who believe in the Genesis creation story. Free entry. Reverend Glen Bayly guest speaker at First Baptist Church

MIFFLINTOWN — Rev. Glen Bayly will be the guest speaker at First Baptist Church in Mifflintown on Sunday, October 9 at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Rev. Bayly is ordained with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. He served as senior pastor in VA, VT and PA for 38 years. Heartbeat Community Services, Inc. Annual Fall Banquet
