Hospital workers have been recognized for all of their hard work over the past year in the Northern Care Alliance (NCA) NHS Foundation Trust Staff Awards.
For the awards, ten winners were announced by the alliance, which provides hospital and community health services in Salford, Oldham, Bury and Rochdale, in Greater Manchester.
Winners were also announced for each care organization, with Rochdale Care Organization workers recognized for their work in the borough during a difficult year.
In the All Staff Awards for the Whole Alliance, Rochdale Care Organization’s Home in a Day team won the Quality and Safety Award for their work with patients who require functional assessment to go home after the hospital.
The team is able to provide transport for the patient’s discharge, social care and equipment.
The winners within the Rochdale Care Organization were:
- Customer Experience Award – Kids Single Access Point Team
- Quality and Safety Award – Home in a Day Team
- Research, Innovation and Education Award – Stroke Community Team
- Leadership Award – Melinda Taylor, Clinical Evaluation Unit
- Volunteer of the Year Award – Rochdale Volunteer Team
- Team of the Year Award – Theater Team
- Individual of the Year Award – Marie Kissack – Heart Failure Service
- Social Value Award – Jody Cockroft, Wolstenholme Unit
NCA President Prof Luger said: “Our staff award winners are representative of our fantastic staff who, for almost two years now, have pulled out all the stops under the most difficult circumstances. Choosing the winners was the tough part, but reading all the nominations to get us to this point was a joy.
“Not that we had to say it again, but it was clear to us that despite the challenges of COVID-19, our staff members still achieved incredible things for our patients, service users and for each other.
“With the Staff Awards, we have highlighted a group of individuals and teams across the organization, but we have no doubts that our winners represent a group of 20,000 stars. “
